A marble cake is a cake with a streaked or mottled appearance achieved by very lightly blending light and dark batter.

Ingredients

Cake

75g or (6 oz) of butter
175g or (6 oz) castor sugar
3 medium eggs
175g (6 oz) self-raising flour, sieved
1 teaspoon baking powder, sieved
60 gr (2 oz) dark chocolate, melted
60 gr (2 oz) white chocolate, melted

Salted Caramel Filling
250g (9 oz) brown sugar
150ml double cream
140g (4 ½ oz) of butter
½ teaspoon salt

Chocolate Ganache
150 gr dark chocolate
150 ml Double cream
Ferrero Roche ( as decoration )
Sea salt crystals

Directions

Step 1 : In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients together and mix well until all combined.

Step 2 : Divide the mixture into two different bowls. Melt dark and white chocolate and add into each bowl, one with dark and one with white chocolate.

Step 3: Place alternate spoonfuls of mixture into a greased and bottom-lined 20cm (8 inch) cake tin, and gently swirl through mixture with a skewer. Make sure you only do it once, otherwise the batter will mix too much.

Step 4: Bake in middle of a pre-heated oven 170ºC for 50-60 minutes. Check with a toothpick when its ready. Let the cake cool completely.

Step 5: While your cake is baking, make the caramel and chocolate genache. To save time you can also buy a can of dulce de leche. To make quick caramel place sugar, cream and salt in a saucepan and heat until sugar dissolves and then bubble for 3-4 minutes not stirring. Allow to cool for 10 mins and then beat in the butter. Chill in refrigerator until firm.

Step 6: Boil double cream, add the chocolate, leave it for few min and then mix together until combined. Chill in the fridge until its a spreading consistency.

Step 7: Split cake and sandwich together with the salted caramel. Spread chocolate genache over the top and sides of the cake. Place the Ferrero Rocheros around the cake and top up with more caramel. Enjoy!!!
